Champions crowned at #ATLJAM

SUWANEE, GA — Championship Sunday at the HoopSeen Atlanta Jam was filled with great games, a lot of college coaches and a host of players that continued to start their stories during the live recruiting period.

17U Orange Championship goes to Birmingham Storm

Alabama vs. Tennessee battled for the Atlanta Jam 17U Orange Title as the Birmingham Storm took on WACG out of Nashville. Birmingham Storm got out to a quick start and never looked back, as they captured the championship with a 46-39 win. Javien Williams, who opened a lot of eyes this weekend, led the Storm with 17 points while Cairon Jones also gave the Storm very solid play.

17U Black Bracket Champs: Team Speights

In a game that featured two teams overflowing with athletes, Team Speights took the 17U Black bracket crown with an 86-73 victory over Charlotte Aces. Team Speights was led by Anthony Brown with 19 points and Brandon Gonzalez with 18 points.

Charlotte Aces got an all-world performance from Ebuka Izundu, who finished with 26 points in defeat. Guard Ty Gadsden chipped in with 17 points.

17U White Championship goest to Nike Team Florida

Nike Team Florida reigned supreme Sunday afternoon to win the 17U White division championship. Behind 22 points from 2016 wing Travis Blanco, the sunshine boys were able to defeat the Birmingham Kings 59-53.

Blanco is a 6-foot-4 bouncy wing that is also a dangerous shooter. He did the majority of his damage in the first half, as he scored 16. He also connected on three 3s.

Despite the loss, it was a successful weekend for the Birmingham Kings. The new program was led by wing Kam Swift with 12 points.

Team Impact wins 17U Gray Championship

Team Impact beat NSA Florida Celtics 60-40 to take home the Atlanta Jam 17U Gray Bracket Championship. Team Impact was led all weekend by Allatoona guard Ephraim Tshimanga, who was a scoring machine all weekend, including posting 18 points in the championship game. Impact cruised to four wins on the weekend, looking very impressive as a team.

Southeast Elite cruises to 16U Orange Championship

Southeast Elite put a cap on a dominant weekend with a 73-44 championship game win over Atlanta Condors. Terrell Turner was the leading scorer for SE Elite with 20 points. However, Malik William was fantastic on the interior, Chaundee Brown played well from the guard spot, Kevin Buckley had some huge throw downs, and Wyatt Wilkes showed a lot of versatility. It was a great team effort from Southeast Elite.

16U Black Bracket Champs: SR1 Mississippi Allstars

SR1 Mississippi Allstars left the Atlanta Jam with a 16U Black bracket championship by taking down Georgia Phoenix 53-52. The Allstars were led by 6'6" big man Kirk Parker with 18 points and wing Nikolas Weatherspoon with 16 points.

On the other side, Charlie O'Briant led Georgia Phoenix again with 14 points in a losing effort. Phil Cirillo and Brennan McDaniel each tacked on 10 points apiece.

Da House claims 15U Orange Championship

The 15U championship game slated Da House, of Mississippi, against the North Georgia Elite. Da House carried a 37-36 lead into the half. It is easy to see why high-major schools are already interested in Robert Woodard, of Da House. He used his strong, 6’5 frame to attack the basket aggressively. Da House used a strong second half to win the contest 72 to 57. Bailey Minor led North Georgia with 20, and Woodard led Da House with 16.

Wellington Wolves win 15U Black Championship

The Wellington Wolves used a combo attack from Jerquan Worthen and Jakari Starling to grab the 15U Black Championship on Sunday. The Florida-based program made an impressive comeback against the Georgia Stars to emerge victorious. Starling used his length and athleticism to lead the team with 17 points.

Jalen Bussey, a 6-foot-1 guard, poured in a game-high 24 points for the Stars in the loss. He did a great job of getting to the rim and overpowering opposing defenders. He will be a prospect to keep an eye on in the future.

TNBC Select takes home 14U Championship

TNBC Select 1918 beat SC Raptors Elite 62-40 and won the championship with good old fashioned defense. It was a spectacular team effort from TNBC. Malachi Martin scored 13 points while Coleman Boyd scored 10 and Ryan Greer and JD Kavel each added nine. Matthew Kormylo scored nine points for SC Raptors Elite.
