#ATLJAM Day One Notebook
It was a great opening night at Suwanee Sports Academy for Atlanta Jam. Good competition, great prospects, and a gym full of college coaches created a good basketball atmosphere and a great stage to write some stories.
Florida Tarheels have a really nice prospect in Deloran Oliver. The 6-foot-3 combo guard plays with a lot of physicality and athleticism. He showed that he can shoot it from the perimeter as well as get to the rim. He currently holds offers from Richmond and Mercer as well as interest from Virginia Tech and Boston University.
South Carolina Raptors have a couple of really nice prospects. 2016 point guard Preston Parks is very impressive making reads out of ball screen situations and is a lock down type of defender that moves his feet and makes it tough on opposing guards. Parks holds an offer from Presbyterian with interest from Wofford, Furman, UNC-Asheville, Winthrop, UMES, & ECU. Along with Parks is 2018 wing Jairus Hamilton, a youngster that has a ton of upside.
Attention Division II’s coaches: Get to a First Coast Elite game this weekend and check out point guard Logan Folsom. Folsom caught the eyes of the HoopSeen staff at last week’s Norman Parker Showcase. He continued his good play with 24 points.
One of the breakout guys at the Alabama Preview earlier this spring was Birmingham guard Javien Williams. Williams kept his breakout going with 26 points in a Birmingham Storm win over Florida Hoyas.
