Premium interest for unsigned forward Burton
Lee-Montgomery finds themselves at the top of the final 7A rankings in the state of Alabama as the playoffs are set to begin next week. One of the big reasons for the Generals rise to the top is senior Tommy Burton.
Burton helped lead St. Jude to a couple of 1A state championships before the school closed down. Now, he is hoping to help Lee-Montgomery win the inaugural 7A state title.
The 6-foot-8 forward has averaged 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists for his new squad this season. College interest has continued to come in, too.
"Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Bowling Green, Murray State, Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay, and Tulane are recruiting me," Burton told HoopSeen.com.
There were some questions about Burton qualifying before his move to Lee-Montgomery. However, from the sounds of things, the available forward has his grades under control.
Expect Burton to draw a lot of attention as the state tournament nears and on into April.
