Evan Wiley coming into his own

HANCEVILLE, AL--- When the name Wiley is thrown around in the state of Alabama, most think of Austin at Spain Park. However, he isn't the only Wiley making a name for himself this season.

Evan Wiley, a 2016 forward from Lee-Huntsville (AL), is starting to come into his own at the most important time of the year, the state playoffs.

A 6-foot-6 combo forward, Wiley has displayed a versatile game this season. He was very impressive during the 6A Northwest Regionals this week. He scored 15 points against a talented Austin High team on Friday, followed by 11 points on Tuesday to help the Generals advance to the 6A Final Four.

Wiley played well around the rim, as he finished contested lay-ins and rebounded well. However, the most intriguing part of his game is his shooting. The junior was able to extend his range to the three-point line each game and knock down a couple of treys.

Wiley is a new name for most college coaches, but Richmond is the lone school to extend a scholarship offer as of now. More schools are showing interest, though.

“Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Cornell, Murray State, Tennessee Tech, Illinois State, West Virginia, and Rice are recruiting me too,” Wiley told HoopSeen.com following a win on Tuesday.

Expect Wiley to be a popular player amongst mid-major coaches this spring.
