White gives early commitment to Vols
After a productive AAU season last year, Romello White, a 2016 power forward at IMG Academy (FL), saw his stock soar. On Monday, he ended his recruitment with a commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers.
“I really like their facility and their coaching staff,” White told HoopSeen.com of his commitment. “I feel like I would be a good fit in their style of play.”
The 6-foot-8 big man made a big statement on the AAU circuit with Stackhouse Elite, a program ran by former NBA player Jerry Stackhouse. He showed a great ability to rebound and block shots, as well as finish with contact at the rim.
White also considered scholarship offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Oklahoma.
He is the first commitment for Donnie Tyndall in the Volunteers’ 2016 class.
