Parker looks good in return to court
Right before AAU season last spring, 2017 Madison Academy (AL) forward Myles Parker suffered a broken leg that kept him out of action all summer. While his friends and teammates played on the circuit in front of college coaches, the 6-foot-7 forward was forced to rehab his injury.
Saturday, the sophomore returned to the court and looked as talented as ever.
As a combo forward, he looked great running the floor and rebounding on both ends. Parker showed no signs of fatigue or problems from his recent injury, and he seems to be feeling good about himself.
"My leg felt pretty strong coming back for my first game," Parker told HoopSeen.com.
Parker has been released since August, but this was his first true game action since playing in the state tournament last winter. He's excited to be playing again.
"I'm starting to get back in a rhythm and get back in game mode. I felt pretty good today."
Before his injury, Parker was poised for a big AAU season. Despite that, his game is still making big strides each day, as his potential is through the roof.
"Right now, I would say my biggest strength is my drive and kick. I can penetrate and kick it out to one of our shooters since we have a lot on the team," he explained. "My outside game is going to be a big factor in my game. I want to be versatile, so I've been working on my outside shooting."
With teammate Josh Langford in the fold, Madison Academy has played host to a variety of college coaches this fall. Some have come to see Parker, too.
"Alabama and Memphis have come to talk to me."
As he continues to get his feet underneath him, Parker is yet another talented 2017 prospect to watch in the state of Alabama.
