Moore takes big game to ACC

Danny Manning has landed his most important big man recruit as the Wake Forest head coach. The former NBA and college star made is first big recruiting splash in ACC country early Wednesday morning when Doral Moore gave the Demon Deacons a verbal commitment.

Moore took an official visit to Winston-Salem last weekend and took a couple of days to think through his decision.

There was a draw to the program, according to those close to Moore, because of the appeal of playing for a former pro and college star that played a similiar position in Manning. Wake Forest assistant coach Steve Woodberry was also a factor in the decision.

A number of the nation's top programs were heavily involved with Moore throughout the recruiting process. Kentucky, Ohio State, Illinois and Texas were deeply involved with the 7-footer.
