McIntosh’s Lowery seeks complete game
Walk into the gym at McIntosh High School and it isn’t hard to spot Dishon Lowery.
He’s the biggest kid with the biggest hair. But don’t let the coif fool you; he is a legitimate mid major prospect that plays with grown man strength. That strength is what Lowery calls the best part of his game.
There are not a lot of players that can contain him on the block. Watching him play, it’s very apparent that he’s right considering his strength his best asset. However, Lowery is not just settling for playing on the block.
“I want a complete game and to be considered more of a stretch-four. I like getting touches in the post, but I want my game to be versatile,” said Lowery.
In the HoopSeen Fall League he has certainly showcased the best of both worlds. There has not been a team that has been able to handle him in the post or on the glass. At the same time, he has also showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and shoot in the midrange and from deep.
This element is what makes Lowery such an interesting prospect in the state of Georgia for 2016. He has a very unique skillset in that he is starting to be able to be both a force in the paint and respectable on the perimeter. If his game continues to evolve, and he can find that happy medium between the interior and perimeter aspects to his game, he could end up being one of the best players in the class.
Lowery currently holds offers from Mercer, North Florida, and Troy and has interest from a number of other mid majors. He will be an integral piece to the puzzle for McIntosh as they look to make a deep run in the state tournament in the upcoming season.
