Introducing the HoopSeen Alabama rankings

The past few years have brought some talented players through the state of Alabama. With our expansion at HoopSeen.com, we will now be ranking the best of the best from the state. Here is how things shake out before the 2014-15 high school season...

In the first edition of the 2015 Alabama rankings, Luverne High School star big man Donta Hall holds the No. 1 spot.

Over the past two years, Hall burst onto the recruiting scene and grew into a high-major product. The Alabama commit has great length, size, and shot-blocking ability that allows him to be a game-changer. His potential for improvement and growth makes him an even more intriguing player for the future.

Theodore High School product Dazon Ingram, another Alabama commit, checks in at No. 2. He can play both guard spots and his ability to score makes him a top option in 2015.

Gerron Scissum, Joseph Struggs, and Ethan Stair finish out the top five.

OFF THE BOARD

Six of the top 10 players in 2015 have made early commitments to schools. Hall, Ingram, and Brandon Austin have given verbal commitments to Alabama. Mississippi State continues to hit the city of Montgomery hard, as they have a pledge from power forward Joseph Struggs. Murray State pulled out an impressive combo forward in Cletrell Pope from Tuscaloosa. Hazel Green's Ethan Stair, one of the most skilled and fundamental players in the state, will take his talents to Mercer.

CLASS OF 2015 ALABAMA RANKINGS

2016 WIDE OPEN

With the exception of the No. 1 spot, things are wide open throughout the top 10 for the Class of 2016 in Alabama.

Madison Academy's Josh Langford will hold down the top spot in the rankings, as high-major programs are in pursuit of his services. Langford's combination of size, skill, and high IQ from the perimeter make him a special player.

However, after him, things get interesting.

Coming in at No. 2 is Blount High School wing Reginald Todd. With his athleticism and scoring ability, he holds some mid-major offers, but the high-major schools are expected to come make some noise in the future.

A trio of big men round of the top five: Vincent's E.J. Datcher, Blount's Cameron Diggs, and Dothan's Kevin Morris. With post play at a premium, it will be fun to see these three guys battle things out to see who is the top big man in the state when all things are said and done.
