Florida it is for Stone

Behind the scenes, Florida had been the favorite to land 2015 Deerfield Beach (FL) Zion Lutheran Christian combo forward Keith Stone for a long time.

His recruitment wrapped up on Monday, as he got the all-clear to give his verbal commitment following an official visit to Gainesville over the weekend.

Many things contributed to the 6-foot-7 forward's decision.

"Florida is close to home. They have great academics and they're a top 25 school," Stone told HoopSeen.com. "Also, the coaches love me."

Stone displayed his potential and versatility at Suwanee Sports Academy this AAU season with the Florida Vipers. Billy Donovan and his staff plan to use both of those traits to their advantage.

"They plan to use me as a three and a four."

Stone also considered VCU and South Carolina.

He joins Noah Dickerson, KeVaughn Allen, and Kevarrius Hayes to round out Florida's four-man 2015 recruiting class.
