Coaches keeping tabs on Lamar Peters
New Orleans is becoming a prime destination for college coaches during the contact period. With prospects spread throughout all levels, the city (and state of Louisiana) has been well-traveled over the past few weeks.
Lamar Peters, a 2016 point guard out of Landry Walker High School, has drawn several coaches to open gym/practices thus far.
"Louisiana Tech, UAB, Baylor, and UMass came down last week," Peters told HoopSeen.com.
That number will grow by the end of this week, too, as several more schools are expected in to see the 6-foot playmaker. Alabama, Mississippi State, and Wake Forest are among the programs that will be in Thursday or Friday to see Peters.
Peters runs on the AAU circuit with New Orleans Elite, an adidas sponsored program. Through the summer evaluation periods, he was able to nail down a number of scholarship offers.
"Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, UAB, Baylor, South Carolina, UL-Lafayette, LSU, Tulane, Houston, DePaul, and Oral Roberts have all offered me."
As the word continues to get out about this under-valued guard, look for his offers and interest to continue to grow.
