Winston Neal, our in-house coach, spent the weekend at Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions and was looking for quality point guards. He found some. Coach Neal breaks down his top playmakers from the loaded event.

Lamonte Turner (E1T1) – this talented guard from Huntsville, AL plays multiple guard positions and gets it done on the court.   He creates shots for himself and for his teammates, shoots it, and has a knack for finding ways to score.   Expect his offer list to grow, he’s primed for a big year for coach Rex Morgan and ACD.   He lists offers from Florida, Auburn, Miami, West Virginia, Wichita State, South Carolina, and Oklahoma.  

Jaren Lewis (Q6) – this athletic wing is a stat stuffer when he steps on the court.   Rebounds, Steals, Assist, Scoring, he does a little bit of everything to help his team win.   He’s got the length on the wing to catch coach’s attention, if he keeps putting up stats like he did at Gibbons expect attention to turn to multiple offers.   Per his coach he has offers from Toledo and Kennesaw State with interest from Belmont, Rice, Davidson, Bucknell, Cornell, Columbia, American, Wofford, and Marist.  

Cam Wiley (Smyrna Stars) – the undersized guard was tough to stop over the weekend.   Pulling up from deep, attacking in transition, he gave opponents fits trying to guard him.   The young man may be undersized but he has a toughness and desire to win that doesn’t go un-noticed.  

Cornelius Taylor (South GA Kings) – sleeper alert in south Georgia.   A-Sun, OVC, Big South, and So Con schools need to find out where Claxton, GA is (south of Statesboro) and call this talented scorer.   He plays multiple guard positions but has a knack for shooting and scoring the basketball.   He currently has no offers but if he continues to play like he did at Gibbons, expect the offers to roll in after July.  

PJ Dozier (Upward Stars) – the big, talented guard played well at Gibbons.   He’s got the size and skill level to get the HM coach’s attention.   Look for him to have a big July and a recruiting battle between SEC and ACC schools to heat up.
