Class of 2016 rankings debut with Simmons on top

The state of Georgia has a lot of talent in the class of 2016 and all you have to do is look on the wing to see the future of the Peach State.

In our first public ranking of the class of 2016, the two and three positions have shined through. Twelve of the 20 ranked players are two guards or wings. For a state that is known for producing big men, the class of 2016 only has five post players in the top 20 at the moment.

Kobi Simmons of St. Francis leads the charge in the sophomore class in Georgia while another state champion that is close behind as Miller Grove Alterique Gilbert checks in at No. 2.

The non-Atlanta players are rising up in 2016, too. Bainbridge guard Tyree Crump is one of the very best scorers in the Southeast. He checks in at No. 4 overall. There are eight players in the top 20 that hail from outside the Atlanta area in the class of 2016.

Understand this: the rankings will change a lot over the next two and a half years. There will be a number of new players that join the list. Some will move up, some will move down, some will move out. The list is fluid and will constantly be in edit mode. A lot can and will happen moving forward.

Here's how the national ranking services have the Georgia players ranked:
