Which team will survive Region 6-AAA
As the march to Macon moves forward, we’ll take a look at what we believe is the best region tournament in each of Georgia’s six classifications.
Teams are familiar with one each other throughout the course of a region play and over the years. Such is the point many of them are constantly knocking each other off.
Region 6-AAA’s season was a gauntlet all year as teams knocked off one another looking to position themselves for the tournament. Who will emerge as not only the top-seed but propel themselves into the postseason?
What to watch:
Cedar Grove is a young team everyone needs to pay attention to this season. The Saints are marching on with a three-game winning streak. Defensively they are averaging 13 steals a game. Look for the Saints to march into the state playoff and make some noise.
St. Pius X Catholic is hosting the tournament, which could play to its advantage. The Golden Lions, with College of Charleston signee Nick Harris, enter the tournament on a three-game. Playing and winning close games could help St. Pius as it makes its run to the state tournament.
Woodward Academy is back in control of its own fate. The War Eagles have had some high’s and low’s this season. Some games during region play could have gone Woodward’s way but didn’t do to some miscues. It cleans up the regular season issues, the War Eagles could take the No. 1 seed into the state playoffs.
Blessed Trinity has had a quietly successful season. The Titans won 20-games positioning themselves into an opportunity to be a state playoff team.
The region tournament will be played at St. Pius
