#MarchToMacon: Middle GA's Region 4-AA is as good as it gets

As the march to Macon proceeds forward, we'll take a look at what we believe is the best region tournament in each of Georgia's six classifications.

Middle Georgia's Region 4-AA is a rivalry game nearly every night. We take a look and examine why we think this is the best region tourney in AA.

What to watch:

  • Taylor County beat Crawford County twice this season. Think that means something to both teams? You better believe it. A potential third game could be one of the very best region tournament finals around.
  • Will the region produce another state championship worthy team? Last year it was Bleckley County. Crawford County and Taylor County teams certainly have the talent to make a run.
  • Gerdarius Troutman can put up points. The Taylor County senior is one of the better scorers in middle Georgia and will likely be the region tournament's leading scorer.
  • Crawford County has a number of talented young players on the roster. Sophomore William Jerrell and freshman big man John Corbin are team captains and the team's most productive players.
  • Monticello forward Qua Thurmond is, pound for pound, one of the better rebounders in the region despite being only 6-foot-1.
  • Northeast Macon's trio of Wycholvia Early, Santez Kinder and Khailyl West make up one of the best scoring trios in the area.
