#MarchToMacon: Can Miller Grove run the Region 6-AAAAA table again?

As the march to Macon proceeds forward, we'll take a look at what we believe is the best region tournament in each of Georgia's six classifications.

Dekalb County's 6-AAAAA has long been home to state champions. The county has produced a basketball state champ for the last eight years. Chew on that for a second.

With five straight titles in a row, Miller Grove is hoping to extend history once again with another trophy for the crowded case. Can anyone knock them out?

What to watch:

  • Miller Grove, as usual, is the favorite to win the region tournament. The Wolverines went undefeated in region play. Again. Some things never change.
  • Miller Grove, part 2. Can Sharman White get production in the post. When the Wolverines roll, the interior game is on point. That's been the key all year.
  • Stephenson is the best team in metro Atlanta that no one is really talking about. The Jaguars have beaten Tucker twice and have competed against some of the best teams in the state. It wouldn't come as a surprise to see Stephenson finish the region tournament with a state playoff home court advantage.
  • Tucker finished the 2013 calendar year on such a roll, winning the Chick-Fil-A Invitational. From there, however, games have been very close and even racked up three losses over the last five weeks. That's too many for the Tigers' standards. Miller Grove has been in the way for James Hartry for a long time. He has the talent to push the Wolverines out of the way this year.
  • M.L. King has enough talent to actually win the entire region tournament. The team is big, strong, athletic and senior driven at the key positions. Hard to call this group a sleeper but they are.
  • Speaking of sleepers, keep a close watch on Mays. Floyd Mack knows how to win. His career is sewn together with great region and state tournament success.

The region tournament will be played at Tucker High School.
