This week's must-see games

Welcome to the 2013-2014 high school season in Georgia. Every Monday we will unveil the five games you need to see in the Peach. The season starts off with a bang.

Thursday, Nov. 14
Miller Grove at Norcross (exhibition) 7:30 p.m.: This may only be an exhibition game but the bragging rights for this match-up hold some credibility. Miller Grove, last year's AAAAA winners, beat Norcross, last year's AAAAAA champs, in December 64-62 in a heated game. The rematch is the perfect way to tip-off the high school season.

Friday, Nov. 15
Woodward Academy at Pebblebrook 7:30 p.m.:
Both of these programs are on the bubble for our overall top 20 Power Poll that will drop the first of December. This game features, at a minimum, seven Division I prospects.

Saturday, Nov. 16
GAC vs. Eagle’s Landing 2:30 p.m. (at St. Francis):
In a pairing of state champions from last year, this one has a chance to be a good one. GAC returns nearly everyone from last year's AA championship team. Eagle's Landing? Well, not so much. But keep an eye on the Isaiah Wilkins (Virginia) vs. Jordan Sessions (Georgia State) match-up.

Hillgrove vs. Stephenson 5:30 p.m. (at Marietta): The Georgia Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic has a number of good match-ups on Saturday. This one has a chance to be the best. Hillgrove, runners-up in AAAAAA last season, returns a good core. Stephenson is big and physical. This game will be a bruiser.

Luella vs. Tucker 5:30 p.m. (at St. Francis): The nightcap of the Verizon Hoops For the Cure should be a good one. Both programs are Power Poll contenders and the match-ups are good. Luella's Temarcus Blanton vs. Tucker's Shembari Phillips has the potential to be a great one.
