Potter plants his decision with FAU

After taking a pair of official visits, Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry point guard Armel Potter decided it was time to end his recruitment. The 6-foot scoring point guard committed to Florida Atlantic University on Monday night.

Potter took a trip to the Conference USA school earlier in the month and knew on the trip that he would be playing for head coach Mike Jarvis.

"Their campus is real nice and their players are real cool," Potter said. "The visit was real nice. I liked the way coaches work and I like the way they practice. I can see me fitting some way in their rotation.

"(Coach Jarvis said he) wants me to develop into best point guard I can be by my junior or senior year. He's expecting big things from me...He's willing to work with me and put in the time. That stood out me."

Potter, a young senior by age, is an intriguing player. He had a monster season last year for the Yellow Jackets and was one of the most productive players in the always-talented Cobb County.

He shined for Vanguard Elite during the July period and finished the summer strong in Orland at the AAU Nationals.

Potter also visited Central Connecticut State and also considered Winthrop, Mercer and Gardner-Webb.
