Visit leads to commitment for Gant

Jakeenan Gant left his Effingham County home on Friday for an official visit to Missouri. He's returning on Sunday as a committed basketball player to the SEC school. The 6-foot-8 power forward spent the weekend in Columbia and liked what he saw enough to commit.

"It just felt like I was home," Gant told HoopSeen.com minutes after the decision. "It is put together. Perfect fit for me."

Georgia's top senior basketball player only took one official visit and decided the time to end his recruitment.

The Tigers turned up the heat in the recruitment in July. Gant said he likes the relationship he's been able to build with Frank Haith and staff.

"(We have a) good connection. We are family. Everyone is cool, all of the coaches," Gant said. "Just perfect."

Gant also considered Florida State, Georgia Tech, Georgia and South Carolina.
