The Carolina Jam Day 1 Quick Hitters
It's finally here. An event that has been on the books for almost three years finally came to fruition this weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina with our Carolina Jam. Let's take a look at who stood out.
Team Trezz Brings It
Balance. Team Trezz - Williams used a balanced attack to take down PSB-Charleston in their first game of the Carolina Jam. Leading the way was Tony Alston who finished with 17 points and unsigned senior Trevon Byrd with 13 points.
2023 prospect Tymaureon Outlaw was a pleasant surprise in the middle with 10 points. Outlaw is the younger brother of former Virginia Tech standout Ty Outlaw.
Jai Williams for Team Trezz 16's was impressive. His length and his ability to get to the rim was on full display in their win over GCA. Williams is a part of the loaded Wayne Country Day program out of Goldsboro coached by Nathan Faulk.
Luke Green with a solid game for the 16 group finishing with 9 points. Ben Ferguson chipped in 12 in the win.
Next Millbrook Guard?
Josh Bowens for Grassroots NC 16's was impressive as they come yesterday. 29 points. He can switch hands and finish, has a good feel for the game coupled with a nice little mid-range game. He is a natural scorer with nice elevation on jumper and he is a good rebounder for position. He gets into the lane and finishes with a nice floater, shake and bake mid-range.
WBC Elite With Big Win
The boys from the beach were outstanding in their win over Team Raleigh. Unsigned senior James Jones went for 18 points and was a monster on the boards. Rodmik Allen scored 15 points and Mikhail Pocknett scored 17 in the win. This group can do some damage this weekend and are fun to watch.
