The West Charlotte Lions have claimed the NCHSAA 3-A state title with a win over Seventy-First High School, 83-75. West Charlotte, down for the first three-quarters of the finals, cut the ballgame to a 1-point deficit going into the start of the fourth-quarter when they outscored Seventy-First 30-21, good enough for the 8 point-win.

This was West Charlotte's eight state title in Men's basketball. Their first one since the 2011 season when they were led by Western Carolina standout Mike Brown and UNC standout Kennedy Meeks.
