Storylines
This year's 7A bracket does not feature the powerhouses of years past with the likes of Westlake, Collins Hill, and McEachern. With that being said, this bracket is wide open. We could see a number of schools walk away with the state title on March 12. While there is not a powerhouse team per se, there are a few players to keep an eye on. The first one that comes to mind for me is Brookwood's Diana Collins. I think she is the best player in the state for the 2023 class and her team will look to her to lead them through this bracket. You definitely can't overlook defending 7A champion Chloe Sterling and Marietta. The JMU signee shocked the state last year with their state title run. There are also a plethora of freshman in 7A that will be holding down the fort for years to come. Grayson's Tatum Brown and North Forsyth's London Weaver are two freshman capable of leading their teams to make a run at the title.
Best Early Round Matchup
The potential second round matchup between Grayson and North Forsyth really sticks out for me. Both teams are top-3 ranked teams according to Kyle Sandy. With only three losses on the season and a perfect region record, North Forsyth has a really solid resume entering the post season. They have a nice balance on offense behind freshman London Weaver, Kamyrn Gardner, Anna Gilatta, and Meredith Franklin. This is a deep team with players that have bought in. Grayson on the other hand has a ton of young talent and a lot of athleticism. The Rams' core of Brown, Tylia Kemp, and Sariya Henry have the ability to give North Forsyth all they can handle.
Most Likely 1 vs 4 Upset
I would not at all be surprised to see Marietta go down to Lowndes and come back with a win. The defending champions have one of the best players and coaches in the state. It did not take me long to see that you cannot count out a team that has Chloe Sterling as their lead guard. The kid is flat out special.

Champion Prediction
I have North Forsyth edging out Brookwood in the state championship game. This was a tough one for me because of Diana Collins. However, North Forsyth is the deeper team. Depth tends to prevail in big time games.
