North Carolina Preview Camp Top Performers : Part II
The North Carolina Preview camp was deep with talent. This camp gave us the opportunity to check out some of the top players in North Carolina. From the drills to the scrimmages, every player gave 100% of energy and nonstop competition start to finish. With the coach's evaluations and some input from the media team, we provided the second wave of our top performers from the camp.
Lewis Walker - Among the bigs at the camp, Walker was the one that all of the coaches talked about while the camp was going on and when it was over. He dominated defenders with his footwork and his ability to score the ball. He showed he can score from the perimeter and can get baskets in the paint with a soft touch around the rim. He moves very well for a guy his size and college coaches have already taken notice as Wake Forest, Ohio and North Carolina A&T have already offered the 2024 prospect.
Treyvon Byrd - Long wing position athlete that can play above the rim. Good timing as a rebounder, has a really wiry frame but can get a lot done on the floor, Byrd can guard a lot of positions on the floor with his length. The Bull City Prep wing was aggressive during all of his games and we really like his size for his position at the next level. He currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Hampton, UNC-Wilmington, North Carolina A&T, UMass, and South Carolina State.
Karon Boyd - Boyd is a strong, physical rebounder and has some size at the guard or wing position. He’s able to get to the rim off the dribble or in transition and finishes through contact. He looks to have grown a bit and has to be closer to 6-foot-6 now. He has been hearing from UNC-Pembroke and Lincoln Memorial University recently and has an official visit coming up with UNC-Asheville, he tells HoopSeen.
Darrien Berrios-Rivera - We were all impressed with the way that Berrios-Rivera moves while he is out on the floor with his size and big body. He is a power guard that can still score off the dribble, gets to the rim and can make shots from the perimeter. He did a solid job all day defending and on the offensive and defensive glass. College coaches looking for a power guard, Berrios-Rivera is your guy.
