Alabama Preview Camp: Team 6 Breakdown

Our Alabama Preview camp is in the books as we hosted 80 players at the Supreme Courts in Guntersville, Alabama. After rounding up the evaluations from our coaches and staff, here is our team 6 break down.

Caden Cook, 2023 G, Chelsea: Cook was one of the more aggressive guards that I saw at the Fall Preview camp. He was constantly looking to attack the rim. In the transition game, he was able to consistently find the open spots and beat the defense to them for easy lay ups.

Jalen Jackson, 2021 G, Bob Jones: Jalen Jackson screams winner. This kid has all the intangibles that a coach could want. He is not the tallest on the court, but that did not stop him from trying to dunk the ball whenever he was close to the rim. Jackson can flat out get up. He converted on several dunks in transition to bring him team back from deficits. Need a stop on defense? Jackson is the guy for that, too. He made plays on both ends of the floor when his team needed it. Jackson was also named a top performer from the camp.

Joseph James, 2021 G, Pinson Valley: James was one of my favorite PGs to watch at the camp. He is a strong, physical guard that plays with so much poise. James is a crafty guard with a great handle. He utilized his first step to blow by defenders to get to the rim. He converted some nice finishes around the basket and showed he can consistently knock down jumpers. The most impressive part of his game was his rebounding ability from the PG position. He was snagging rebounds left and right on both ends of the floor. I would not be surprised if James finished as one of the top leading rebounders of the camp.

Franklin "RJ" Johnson II, 2023 G, Grissom: The footwork Johnson showed during the camp was impressive for such a young prospect. I watched him score on up-and-under moves and fadeaways. He already has a strong frame that helps him physically dominate smaller guards. Johnson was consistent with his midrange game and knocked down a couple of threes.

Kevin "KJ" Kirk, 2024 G, Clay Chalkville: The poise that Kirk possesses at his young age was fun to watch. He does not force any plays that are not there and took good shots. He made some clutch plays for his team throughout the day knocking down timely threes. Kirk has a strong rip through that he uses to get off his dribble pull ups. He was solid on the defensive end too, recording a couple of steals.

Win Miller, 2023 G, Vestavia Hills: Miller was one of the most intriguing prospects at the camp. At 6-foot-3, he was able to get to any spot on the floor. He showed off his athleticism converting several tough lay ups with acrobatic finishes. He displayed a lot of confidence with the ball in his hands. Only a sophomore, his ability to make good decisions is already there. He took care of the ball and made great decisions throughout the day. Miller was named one of the top performers of the Fall Preview camp.
