Alabama Preview Camp: Team 3 Breakdown
Our Alabama Preview camp is in the books as we hosted 80 players at the Supreme Courts in Guntersville, Alabama. After rounding up the evaluations from our coaches and staff, here is our team 3 break down.
Chad "Duke" Chambers, 2021 G, Calera: Duke Chambers was probably the quickest point guard that I saw at the Alabama Preview camp. Defenders were having a hard time staying in front of him throughout the day. Using his quickness along with his tight handle, he was able to draw a ton of fouls. Chambers was able to get to any spot he wanted in the paint with minimal dribbles and finished multiple acrobatic lay ups.
Brandon Green, 2021 G, Deshler: While considered a small guard, Green has a nice frame to him. He is a fundamentally sound player that makes good decisions. On the offensive side, Green had a lot of success hitting catch and shoot jumpers. He proved to be most effective in transition turning his defense into offense.
Jekari Harris, 2024 G, Clay Chalkville: One of the youngest players at the camp, Harris showed that he has potential to develop his skill set. Throughout the day, he showed an understanding of taking good shots and not forcing plays. He displayed confidence in his catch and shoot game as well as his corner 3-point shots.
Michael Jones, 2022 G, Montevallo: Michael Jones showed exactly what a coach would want to see from a player at the PG position. He has a good handle, limits his turnovers, and sets his teammates up for easy buckets. This is a player that you could trust with the ball in his hands to make the right decisions.
Caleb Speights, 2022 G, Mortimer Jordan: The lefty has a really smooth mid range jump shot. I watched Speights utilize his pull up jumper during game play. His ability to stop on a dime while maintaining a fluid release was really impressive. He is a downhill player who makes strong moves to the basket. Speights is also solid on the defensive end. He recorded several steals with the pressure he was putting on the opposing guards.
Amarion Tolliver, 2022 F, Bullock County: Tolliver has the ability to impact the game with his length. He was active on defense, getting his hands on a lot of balls. His knack for rebounding the ball was evident. Tolliver went after every board on both ends of the floor. He also runs the floor well and got rewarded with easy lay ups for doing so.
