Top underclassmen at the 2020 HoopSeen #ATLJAM, part I
The 2020 Atlanta Jam is in the books and our staff has gone through a weekend full of notes to compile our Best of series from the summer showcase. Today we take a look at the top overall underclassmen performers from the event.
The bar was set high on opening night as Lockhart set the tone early with his play and he never relented. Lockhart has compiled as good of a summer as any big man in Georgia’s 2022 class. He’s productive and purposeful in his play. Lockhart has soft hands and a toughness to him that balances out nicely. Don’t be surprised to see his recruitment start to grow some legs as more and more schools see his consistently production. - Justin Young
Class of 2023 guard Jaylen Priester dazzled with his scoring ability in a Saturday loss to HYPE. The rising sophomore at Creekside Christian (GA) shot out of the gates and provided instant offense for Express, finishing with 18 points in the first half and 24 points total in the game. The lefty was in attack mode all night, doing a terrific job cutting through traffic for easy buckets or drawing fouls in the process. Priester went 9-for-9 from the free throw line and also hit one three-pointer in the contest. - Zach Shugan
The class of 2023 guard was one of the most electric guards in the entire Atlanta Jam. He averaged over 25 points a contest over the weekend. The Bartow (FL) guard made sure everyone knew his name by the way he played. He’s a point producer supreme and led the Atlanta Jam in scoring, across all age groups. He’s a strong young guard who is built like - here’s a throwback for ya - Vinnie Johnson of Detroit Pistons fame. Parker is instant offense and wants to have the ball in his hands at all times. - Justin Young
