Top 17U story starters at the 2020 HoopSeen #ATLJAM, part I
The 2020 Atlanta Jam is in the books and our staff has gone through a weekend full of notes to compile our Best of series from the summer showcase. Today we take a look at the top overall breakout performers from the event.
Jack Brown of Mid State Elite established himself as one of the best shooters in the building. He knocked down at least three 3-pointers in each game he played in this weekend. He scored an efficient 20 points in both games I was able to watch him play. He has a quick, fluid shot that he can get off in a hurry from deep range. With his 6-foot-4 frame, he can get into the lane and create too showing off his athleticism finishing dunks and lay ups in traffic. He is a great decision maker and rarely took a bad shot. Brown currently holds offers from Maryville College and Johnson University. - Brianna Patton
Yacinthe is wired to score and we saw that from him once again. The 6-foot-5 wing was one of the top overall scorers in the 17U division in scoring and showed that he has the most microwave ability of anyone in the tournament. Yacinthe is terrific in slashing to the iron. Don’t be surprised to see him be in the top five in scoring this high school season in the Peach State. - Justin Young
The South Cobb hooper had himself a game on Saturday, putting up a crazy 33 points in a win over Team RSK. He caught fire in the first half, hitting five threes on his way to 19 first half points. He got to the cup with his 6-foot-3 frame and length that bothered the opposition for 32 minutes. Riggins has a high motor and is a player to keep an eye out for. His brand of basketball should transition well for the style South Cobb loves to employ. - Bre Singleton
