Promise Elite beat Buckhead Blazers 53-36 to win the 13 and under division of the 2020 Georgia Cup Summer League on Sunday at Suwanee Sports Academy.

This was a back and forth game in the first half with Promise Elite leading 29-2 behind 10 first half points from Dedrick Welch.

Promise Elite was paced for the game also by Welch, who scored a game-high 16 points in the title game. Welch, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana has a knack for scoring coupled with super court awareness and vision, he is the glue behind this team and makes them run.

One of the big difference makers in this game was Promise Elite used a stifling defense en route to holding the Blazers to 12 second-half points. Forcing turnover and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities erased all efforts of a comeback for the Buckhead Blazers
