Tennessee Prep Hoops Rocky Top Fall League Standouts
Four Fall Leagues in the book and the High School sits right here awaiting the tip-off. Who shined at our various leagues around the state of Tennessee? I have chosen seven players from each league who made their mark, let's check them out.
Kendrick Holland (South Doyle), 5'9 PG 2020
The diminutive guard continues to be one of the more dynamic players on the Eastern side of the state. Holland was chosen the leagues MVP after averaging 22.7 points per game including a game-winner in our championship series. A sneaky defender, a great kid and scorer, when he gets his chance at the next level, happy you will be.
Riley Cooper (York Institute), 6'6 PF 2021
This kid made strides during the Fall League season. Good size, he plays with tremendous effort, he rebounds, he runs the floor and he showed he could score with three 20 point efforts to close the season. He finished at 14.7 points per game and was one of the shining stars in the league.
Hayden Llewellyn (Jellico), 6'0 P/SG 2023
One of only two rising freshmen we let play in the league, Hayden showed he belonged averaging 14.6 point per game for the season against bigger and stronger players every game. He has a natural feel for the game, very bouncy, shoots well, when on balance, and just has a knack for putting the ball in the hole.
Josh Seiler (Maryville), 6'3 SG 2021
Newcomer to the area from out West, he took the league by storm averaging 22.8 points per game. Slick offensive game, he is very adept at scoring in the lane, uses angles and creative moves, his shooting is adequate and he is a better athlete than he appears.
B.J. Edwards (Knoxville Catholic), 6'3 PG 2022
An outstanding player who just has a sense about him that truly belies his age. He can shoot, score and defend. His size is perfect for a combo guard and he proved such leading the league in scoring at 27.8 points per game. A nationally ranked player in his class, his maturity and pace are his best assets.
Ty Hurst (Carter), 6'3 SG 2020
Lean perimeter player was one of the more dynamic players in the league with his length and aggressive nature. Hurst finished at 18.3 points per game. His outside game needs some additional work but his length, attitude and passion for this game is there. He will have a monster senior season.
Nick Roberts (Alcoa), 6'4 WF 2020
Just a player, not the quickest or the most athletic but his production speaks for itself. He was one of the top scorers in the league at 17.8 per game and had a 39 point effort in the championship series. He has a great flow, he passes the ball well, he sees the game and is a dead-eye from outside. A gem on the right level.
