Tennessee Fall Preview camp team 6

The inaugural Tennessee Fall Preview took place on Saturday and some of the best talent in the surrounding Nashville area converged at LaVergne high school for the state's premier exposure camp. Our staff came away impressed with several players. Here are our evaluations for team 6.

De'Anthony Nowlin, 2022 G, LaVergne: Ball handlers had a tough time scoring on De'Anthony Nowlin as he routinely kept guys in front of him. His ability to body up to his matchup and force turnovers lead to some easy offense on the other end. As he earned the reputation of his team's best defender, he would go on to guard the other team's scorer for the rest of the day. Nowlin has somethings inside that you just can't teach.

Marcus Averhart, 2021 G, Northeast: With a very good motor and some outside shooting, Marcus Averhart left his mark on his team's style of play. On the defensive end, he blended well, rarely giving up an open lane to the basket. Even when beat he would make an extra effort to cover his teammate that had just covered for him. Most of his decisions lead to positive results as he chose to make the smart play instead of the fancy.

Demontre Carlton, 2020 G, Summit: When the game got slow and team 6 needed a basket, Demonte Carlton was often the guard to change the tempo. As others got tired he caught his second wind and pushed the ball up the backs of those trying to cut him off. From start to finish he created and kept his own pace and he mixed in a few lefty made threes from the perimeter.

Jabahri Mastin. 2021 F, Blackmon: Every game that went by, the shooting from Jabhri Mastin would continue to get better. By the final horn, his status as his team's best situational player became solidified. Playing the game fast or slow was no problem for the junior forward as he brought the same productive mentality to either way of playing. Some consistency from 3 opened up the floor for him to show off some playmaking ability.

Damon Fann, 2022 G, Oakland: Offense came in bunches whenever sophomore guard Damon Fann had the ball in his hands. From 3 he was efficient due to some smooth mechanics and his understanding of good shot selection. Defenders tried rattling his cage with physical play and Fann took it in stride. The confidence he has in his ability to score the ball should suit him well going forward.

Jalen Page and Jalen Pegues were named as one of our camps top performers. Check out their profiles to find their stories.
