Alabama Fall Preview Team 6 Evaluations
Our Alabama Fall Preview camp is in the books and our staff of evaluators and coaches have gone through their notes of every player in the camp. Every. Single. One. Today we look closer at Team 6 from camp.
Joshua Mason, 2021 SF, Demopolis: Mason is the ideal bully guard with his stature and frame. Built like a football player, the junior excels at attacking the lane and finishing at the rim. He is also a versatile defender that can guard multiple positions with his strength and quickness. There weren't many more powerful players in attendance.
Jalen Orr, 2022 SG, Austin: A long, wiry guard, Orr is an intriguing backcourt option with his athleticism and speed. The sophomore made shots from 3, but he is most intriguing as a slasher and driver. He has a long, quick first step that allows him to get to the rim when he wants. He was also a tremendous competitor throughout the day.
Christopher Cosper, 2021 PG, Satsuma: Cosper carved his niche early and often as an aggressive defender and competitor. Despite his thin frame, the Satsuma HS product didn't back down from any competition. He had one of the highest motors in camp and also made the right play each time down the floor on offense.
Erin Jones, 2022 PG, Richland (MS): Jones displayed a great basketball IQ on both ends of the floor on Sunday, as he made the correct decisions on offense and defense on a consistent basis. He was also one of the most consistent shooters from the day, too. The Mississippi product connected on several jumpers over the course of the day.
Jacob Comer, 2021 PG, Prattville Christian Academy: Comer has made some considerable improvements in his game since the summer, most notably adding some strength and weight to his frame. The cerebral guard was effective as a ball-handler and distributor, but he also was able to pick his spots and make plays for himself. His unselfish play opened up driving lanes for him as a scorer and he was able to finish well in the paint.
Treagan Lockett, 2020 PF, Hewitt-Trussville: At 6-foot-8, Lockett is an intriguing big man to track going forward. The slender big man is raw on the offensive end of the floor but he possesses loads of potential and upside. On defense, he uses his length and size to be a rim protector and shot disruptor.
Clayton Cunningham, 2021 CG, Gardendale: Cunningham excels as a ball-handler with his fundamental play and skill-set. He got better as the day went on, especially when eluding and enduring defensive pressure. The junior shot the ball well and was one of the best catch-and-shoot players in attendance.
Bryson Clague, 2021 SG, Auburn: Clague recently made the move to the South from Wisconsin and he was a pleasant from surprise from the action. The 6-foot-2 guard has a nice frame that allows him to take bumps while attacking the basket. He shot the ball well from 3 and distanced himself from his peers as a shooter and high IQ player.
