The 2020 Best of the South returns to the Georgia World Congress Center

The Best of the South youth basketball tournament will return to the Georgia World Congress Center July 9-12, 2020.

HoopSeen will once again host the biggest event under one roof during the important July NCAA Live Period for boys basketball players in high school and middle school.

“We are excited to return to the Georgia World Congress Center for the 2020 Best of the South,” said HoopSeen CEO Mike Eddy. “We saw what kind of impact the event had for independent teams and college coaches alike and we are excited to do it again for the NCAA Live Period. It makes the most sense for everyone involved to have an event like this under one roof in a city like Atlanta.”

Last year’s event drew 325 teams from 31 different states and played nearly 1,000 games in a four day period in the same venue. There were over 250 college coaches in attendance from all corners of the United States.

“We have the capacity to take even more teams in 2020 and we are excited about adding more diverse talent to the field. There were teams from all parts of the United States who left the week with playing time in front of college coaches, terrific competition and a terrific cultural experience in downtown Atlanta,” Eddy said. “We can’t wait to do it again in 2020.”

The Georgia World Congress Center serves as a meeting space for some of the biggest sporting events in the world, including the 2020 Final Four.

The surrounding area is home to the Mercedes Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, College Football Hall of Fame, CNN Center, Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, Home Depot Backyard, and many other tourist destinations.
