2019 Alabama Fall Preview Team 2 Evaluations

Our Alabama Fall Preview camp is in the books and our staff of evaluators and coaches have gone through their notes of every player in the camp. Every. Single. One. Today we look closer at Team 1 from camp.

Chad Chambers, 2021 G, Calera: This crafty lefty is not afraid to mix it up on the defensive end. He has a toughness about him that can't be taught, and he plays the role of a true point guard by getting others involved, communicating, and controlling the pace. Has a creative way of finishing at the rim with a variety of lay-ups and floaters. Chambers is a willing and able shooter from well beyond the 3-point line and is deceptively quick and is hard to stop going left. With him at the helm, Calera should make a good run in class 6A this upcoming season. - Derik Williams

Brad Lewis, 2021 G, Thompson: A long and lengthy wing who can really get off the floor. Loves getting to the rim and finishing over the top of defenders. He is a poster waiting to happen if a defender dares contest him at the rim. The lefty has a nice touch around the rim but is a prototypical 3-and-D guy who is capable of knocking down shots from the outside. At only a junior with consistent work, he could develop into a legit next-level prospect. - Derik Williams

Blake Durham, 2021 G, Pike Road: This kid ran under the radar at camp, but the Pike Road HS guard is sneaky athletic and is a very intriguing player. Showed he is a very good defender and has really good elevation on his jump shot. Needs to assert himself more on the offensive end, because has the tools to be an efficient scorer. He should help the Patriots and Coach Rob McGaughey win some games this season. -Derik Williams

Wilder Evers, 2022 G, Oak Mountain: We were really impressed with this kid's poise and decision making. He has a nice refined game and always seems to be under control. Does a really good job of getting to his spots and is a master at scoring in today's noman's land the mid-range. He has a great pull up jump shot and his consistent motion allows him to get it off over defenders with confidence. With his sound decision-making capabilities, he should play with the ball in his hand much more. -  Derik Williams

Michael McGraw, 2022 G, Oxford: This heady and smart point guard is great at controlling pace all while conducting traffic. He has a body that can withstand the punishment of a guard who is able to thrive in the painted area. His feel for the game is probably his best attribute as he is an extension of the coach out on the floor. Oxford is in good hands at the point guard position for years to come as he is only a sophomore. - Derik Williams

Cam Boozer, 2020 F, Lanett: This massive senior was an eye-catching prospect from the minute he stepped through the door. His high running motor was just the cherry on top as defenders struggled to move his sheer size away from any rebounds. With some workable skill to build on, the later years of Boozer's career could show off a different prospect. Being way ahead of the curve physically helps his case as one of the state's most imposing big men.

Zane Nelson, and Dylan Glover were a few of our top performers from this event. To see their story, read more here.
