2019 Alabama Fall Preview camp team 3 evaluations

Our Alabama Fall Preview camp is in the books and our staff of evaluators and coaches have gone through their notes of every player in the camp. Every. Single. One. Today we look closer at Team 2 from camp.

PJ King, 2020 G, Hoover: PJ possessed one of the key attributes you’d want to see in all players. Communication. He talked on both ends of the floor, non-stop. This contributed well to his role as his team’s floor general. With a strong frame, he channeled his brute strength to get to his spots on the floor. He made a nice number of plays as a creator/playmaker.

Noah Bussman, 2020 G, Cullman: There’s always a spot on the floor for players who can make open shots. Noah accepted his role as a shooter on Sunday. He used his high-IQ to get to the open spots on the floor for easy jumpers. He also showed his ball-handling ability by using combination moves to get past defenders.

Cam Crawford, 2021 G, Spain Park: Cam’s a player who we thought had a ton of upside. He’s got good size for a guard at 6’4 and the length/wingspan to match. He proved that he could produce from the perimeter. He knocked down jumpers and showed his ball handling skills when attacking off the dribble.

Shawn Holmes, 2021 G, Pike Road: Shawn showcased his skillset as a smooth lefty guard who was always under control. He displayed a good shooting touch and confidence to his shots when they mattered most. He was comfortable shooting off the catch from multiple locations on the floor.

Justin Moore, 2021 G, Oxford: After watching Justin Moore connect on a two-handed put-back dunk during the scrimmages, it was clear to see that his athleticism was highly prevalent. Highlight plays like that continued throughout the day for the junior guard. Moore finished above and around the rim with contact from defenders. He also showed shooting range from beyond the perimeter. Justin had a nice outing at our Fall Preview.

Elijah Thrower, 2023 G, Dothan: As one of the few freshmen at the Fall Preview camp, Elijah handled himself well against older competition. He played with poise and made efforts on both ends of the court. Elijah displayed his ability to knock down the mid-range jumper off the dribble; a shot that will serve him well as he continues to develop his game.

William Tate Goolsby, 2021 F, Fyffe:    Tate was outstanding as a three-point marksman. He torched the nets with jumpers from just about everywhere. At 6’5, he was able to consistently elevate and shoot over opposing defenders. He played with pace and used hard cuts to get open. Tate also took advantage of creating his own shot attempts and he displayed some solid inside-outside capabilities.

Johntarius Green, 2023 G, Montgomery Catholic: Attacking downhill was clearly the primary objective for the freshman point guard. He excelled in his dribble penetration and consistently found a way to get past defenders for paint touches. He’s athletic with long arms. A bright future ahead for this young man.
