The Mobile Hornets defeated the Birmingham Thunder 69-59 en-route to their 17U crown. The Hornets didn’t drop a game on their way to the title, going a perfect 7-0 during their time at this year’s Best of the South.

The Hornets relied heavily on their “Big-4”, comprised of Alfonso Hires, Jonathan Donaldson, Tim Williams, and Chris Al-Suggs. While the Thunder kept it within striking distance for much of the way, the shooting of these Hornets, particularly Al-Suggs, kept the Thunder from creeping too close.

Al-Suggs led all, with a whopping 30 points, including nine three balls. He hit six treys in the second half. Donaldson finished with 13 points. Williams had 13. Hires had 10.
