DSGB claims the 17U Blue #BOTS19 championship

By Derik Williams

The 17U Blue championship between Team Legacy from Sparta, Tennessee and Team DSGB from Miami, FL was a back and forth battle until the end. This game was the definition of basketball – a game of runs.

After all of the runs, DSGB was able to win the championship by a score 63-56.

Team Legacy came out hot in the first half until DSGB went on an eight to nothing run to take a 31-24 halftime lead. Jeffrey Bujan led the way with 22 points as he was able to get into the lane and finish at the rim at will.

Christian Pujals got the scoring started knocking down two early 3-pointers on his way to 13 points. Rahmel Davis and Raul Evora also chipped in scoring 9 points apiece.

As for Team Legacy top performers, Masyn Winningham had 15 points on 5 3-pointers while 6’5 power forward Noah Smith added 14. Roger Meadows did as much as he could to keep them close by pouring in 11 points.
