Six teams go undefeated in 16U at HoopSeen Tip-Off
There were six teams in the 16 and under division who went undefeated at the HoopSeen Tip-Off over the weekend. Let’s take a look at who they were and how they did it.
Dem Boyz: The Nashville squad came dressed right and played right, scoring wins against Living Our Dreams, Empire City, South Florida Sonics and the East Cobb Playmakers. Kawaski Martin, Antonio Anthony, Martise Jackson and Sabino Otira were quick and loved to push the pace all weekend long.
Game Elite Blue: A 4-0 record with wins over Georgia Achiever Academy, D1 Hoops, Five Star Basketball and Dream Nation FL, Game Elite Blue has to be happy with how their travel season started. Good production from Jamari Shelton and Mekhi Bell anchored their offensive attack.
Stackhouse Elite: What a terrific weekend it was for the adidas Gauntlet squad. A perfect record against four terrific teams. Now that’s how you start a spring. Stackhouse ran the table against Game Elite Big 5 2022, Game Elite, Upward Stars Southeast and Garner Road. Their 4-0 record may have been the most impressive of any team in the field this year. Guard Peyton Daniels was one of the most impressive guards in the entire event. He shined in every category. Big man Ian Schieffelin was quite productive throughout. Defensively, this group gave teams nightmares.
TNBC Elite: The Memphis-based squad came to the Tip-Off with something to prove. Their 4-0 record against WR Express, East Georgia Panthers, PRYME Elite and FCE Elite certainly made people take notice. Guard Calvin Jennings, wings Damien McKnight and Jordan Hamilton caught our attention.
TNT HoopSquad 2021: Coming up from Orlando, this group had to be happy with their play at the Tip-Off. They knocked off Upward Stars Blue, ECL Elite, Metro Elite Basketball Club and SACC. They did by playing a balanced, defensive-minded effort. Alvaro Mendez hit a game-winner at the buzzer to help TNT stay perfect.
Upward Stars White: What a weekend it was for this club. With wins over Georgia Knights, M.A.T.T.S Mustangs, Team Trezz and Team Xplosion, earning a 4-0 record wasn’t easy. Bryson Bishop shot the three-ball very well. Dessie Canty and Jared Rogers both shined in their own right. Really nice looking team to keep an eye on as we enter into the April period of the travel season.
