Elite Preview 2021-2022 Team 5 Evals

The Elite Preview 2021-2022 camp is in the books and now we begin to look back at all of the players who competed in the biggest stage of the Fall.

Matthew Brown, 6-4, SG, Duluth, 2021: The sharp shooting wing showed off a good three-point and mid-range shoot. Doesn’t take-off plays, defends very well with long arms, creating deflections and good close-outs on shooters. Great rebounding guard, that excels in starting the break and causing havoc for defenders to guard in transition. Great pace to his game, understands speed and tempo. Passes the ball extremely well, with good court vision.

Ian Davis, 6-3, SG, Discovery, 2021: A slashing guard with good head and shoulder moves to the rim seeking contact to finishing and creating opportunity to get to the foul line. Good mid-range shooter, will knock down and open three-ball. Good offensive rebounder with put-back abilities. Good on ball defender.

Imre Earls, 6-0, PG, East Hall, 2021: Just a great glue guy to have on a team. If you need a bucket, a defensive stop, a rebound, assist and loose ball - he’s going to do it. A player every team needs to win ball games. Earls has a great feel to the game. He shoots the ball well from the perimeter and has a quick first step off the dribble.

MioKaye Grant, 6-5, PF, Eastside, 2022: An athletic, long, wiry forward that runs the floor on both ends. With long arms, he rebounds out of his area for easy put backs. Grant has soft hands around the rim with plays with good post moves, finishing with either hand on both sides of the rim. He shoots the ball with good accuracy. Bouncy, has a quick second jump to block shots.

Danny Stubbs, 6-0, PG, Pebblebrook, 2021: Wired to score, scores from the perimeter, attacking the basket.  Good on ball defender and rebounder.  Rebounds and starts the break.  Handle ball with both hands, pushes ball well in transition.  Good eye hand coordination.

Bruce Thornton, 6-1, CG, Milton, 2022: Strong upper body, bucket getter, from beyond the three, mid-range or attacking the paint. Good at reading ball screens and pick and roll action with good success.  Good passer, finding his teammates for open shots.  When in transition or penetrating to the basket he causes help from other defenders and makes the right pass for his teammates to be successful. Great rebounder for a point guard, strong hands and good athleticism.  Being a football player, he has great court vision, good on ball and help side defender with quick footwork and recovery instincts. Very coachable. Great leader. One of the top overall players at the camp.

Maksim Vinogradov, 6-4, SF, Denmark, 2022: A perimeter shooter with good shot selection.  Good feel for the game, making the right decision to shoot or make the extra pass for a better shot. Does a good job putting the ball on the deck then attacking the basket. Willing rebounder.

RJ Dean, 5'7 PG, Eastside, 2022: A physical point guard that plays with energy on both sides of the ball. Likes to penetrate off the dribble and get into the paint to use his floater. When the floater isnt available he would kick out to a teammate for an open shot.  Dean handles ball well with both hands along with his good court vision. He plays both sides of the ball as he is a good help side defender.
