Top 5 Individuals at the Dodge Florida Shootout
By Josh Baker
The Dodge Florida Shootout got underway on Saturday, September 22nd on the beautiful campus of IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The annual two-day event began with more than 50 individuals having the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college coaches and scouts from across the state of Florida.
Individuals came from all over Central Florida and South Florida to participate in the annual event led by Conrad Foss. Participants were divided up into two divisions and each group participated in skill development/skills, a lecture opportunity and condensed 3v3 games prior to full court competition where each team played two games, which included two halves of sixteen minutes each.
The event featured individuals from a variety of classes, however we have chosen to highlight five specific participants whom we believe continued to help develop their growth by taking part in the Dodge Florida Shootout at IMG Academy.
Jonathan Renois – PG
Class of 2021 – 5’11, 165lbs
Somerset Pines
He’s only a Sophomore, however he had everyone in the building on their feet & taking notice many times on Saturday. He is quick, athletic & poised, while showing the ability to take over the game offensively multiple times today. I would expect his stock to continue to rise moving forward playing with a loaded team at Somserset Pines.
Jemal Davis – F
Class of 2019 – 6’8, 175lbs
Okeechobee High School
He has the ability to change the opposing offense each & every time he’s on the floor due to his length and athleticism. His upside is incredibly high and still has quite a ceiling to reach. Don’t be surprised if he decides to attend prep school once he finishes up at Okeechobee as this would be an opportunity for continued growth both athletically and academically.
Sean Shore – G/F
Class of 2020 – 6’5, 180 lbs
Evangelical Christian School
He is a stretch forward who leads his team in a variety of ways, including his ability to score in many different facets, along with his aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. He’s currently hearing from a few different LM/MM Division 1 programs, along with interest from D2s.
Tyler Krivitzkin – PG
Class of 2019 – 5’10, 165 lbs
Cypress Bay High School
Tyler is a very smart, highly intelligent player who knows when to be aggressive, when to shoot and when to distribute to teammates. He is looking forward to attending a high academic program where he can get his degree in Business, he’s drawing interest from NYU, Johns Hopkins and a few others at this time.
Lenny Ricca – G
Class of 2019 – 6’3, 175lbs
St. Thomas Aquinas
He’s a solid shooter who understands his role and would be a good fit at any D2 or D3 program that wants to fill that specific need. Don’t be surprised if he chooses a program that will allow him to be himself and play within the role that he is most comfortable with moving forward.
