10/9 AND UNDER CHAMPIONSHIP
The 9U/10U Championship game was an absolute battle between ATL Blue Chips and Promise Elite. ATL Blue Chips were looking to avenge their #GACup I championship game loss last weekend.
After one-quarter of play, the Blue Chips found themselves up only one point. The momentum switched in their favor in the 2nd quarter and the Blue Chips went on a nice 12-4 run powered by Cullen Browne and Jaden Smith.
Promise Elite came out in the second half with an 11-point deficit to trim down. Chancellor Delk led a 6-0 run for Promise Elite to open the third and would score eight in the quarter while the Blue Chips only scored three as a team. Up four to start the fourth, ATL Blue Chips struggled to get buckets. Promise Elite managed to cut it to three with two and a half minutes to play. Delk hit made his first free throw with 31 seconds to play, missed the second, got his rebound and put it back up to tie the game at 28. Delk couldn’t hit a free throw to win it and the Blue Chips has a layup roll off the rim to end regulation. Kamari Brown’s two free throws would be the only points in OT and give Promise Elite the win. Delk finished with 14 points and one board for the champs.
Cullen Brown put up 10 points, six boards for ATL Blue Chips while Seven Rashad finished with four points and 14 rebounds. - Bre Singleton
