Previewing the Class AAAA Final Four

Middle Georgia will be the place to be on Friday night as the AAAA Final Four comes to town. We dive into both games and invite you to pick the winners.

Baldwin vs St. Pius X, 4 p.m.

What a match-up of basketball minds. Baldwin’s Buck Harris is one of the best coaches in the Peach State. He’s no stranger to the Final Four, given his history at Laney High School. His teams play hard, play purposeful and defend. This year’s Baldwin team just keeps trending upward. Their test is now to face one of the best basketball teams in the state. St. Pius X returns to the Final Four. The Lions are good. Really good. Their guard play of Everett Lane and Matt Gonzalo are fun to watch work together. St. Pius X runs one of the tightest systems in the Southeast.

Sandy Creek vs Upson Lee, 8 p.m.

Looking for a dynamic game in the Final Four across all classifications? Look no further than right here. Upson Lee hasn’t lost in two years. We know this. Tye Fagan is a Mr. Georgia Basketball candidate and one of the most talented winners we’ve seen in the Peach State over the last decade. Sandy Creek is the best team Upson Lee has played since Dec. 30, when UL beat Warner Robins for the Lake City Classic title. SC has so many weapons and good size at the right positions. Expect the Fort Valley State gym to be sold out and loud for what should be a terrific basketball game.
