17U White Championship: Pro One Select White 61, Atlanta Lightning 60
The 17U White division championship game was one of the best matchups I saw at #BOTS. Both groups were well coached, poised under pressure, and competitive. Pro One Select guard Calvin Walker didn’t need much time to settle in. He put up 24 points including a couple threes from outrageous distance. Kendall Cotner added 10 points and big man Kirkland Suratt finished with nine points, five boards. Atlanta Lightning got a brilliant game from guard Joshua Archer. The Heritage High School PG finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Cameron Robinson helped out with 11 points and 10 boards. Jamari Dean, grabbed six rebounds to go along with his 12 points.
Pro One Select found itself down two points with about 15 seconds left to play. Out of a timeout, Pro One ran executed its play to a perfection. Riley Wolgamott hit Luke Tomlinson off a down screen for a triple at the top of the key. He drilled it with a just over a second left on the clock. Atlanta Lightning’s half-court heave hit rim but didn’t fall.
