15U Orange Championship: PSB Select 51, Georgia Stars 48
Georgia Stars ran into a team that could match the length and athleticism of the like of 6-6 wing Brandon Boston and 6-4 PF Toneari Lane in the 15U Orange championship game. PSB Select controlled the tempo in this one, dropping back into a wide 2-3 zone and forcing the Stars to execute.
The Stars struggled to score in the first half, taking only 22 points into the break. PSB guard Isaac Boothe, on the other hand, had no trouble putting the ball in the basket, scoring 13 of his 19 points in the first half. He fueled the run that gave PSB a five-point lead. Lane would pick it up in the second half for the Stars, and finished with 16 points. Outside of him though, the Stars weren’t able to find very many points. Deivon Smith a couple threes on his way to 10 points. Smith was the only other Stars player in double digits.
Christopher Huntley and Luke Robinson added nine and eight points respectively to help PSB’s efforts. The Stars couldn’t get up a good shot to tie it up at the buzzer.
