11U Championship: Sports Academy South 41, Georgia Jayhawks 35
With just six players, Sports Academy South rallied from down 27-19 after three quarters to stun the Jayhawks. Christjen Johnson scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter while Bruce Reese netted all six of his in the frame. Emmanuel Mullings scored eight in support. Robert Early scored 14 points and Tyson Miller had eight in the loss.
10U Championship: Georgia Impact 54, Currahee Defenders 37
Tyson Moore and Kunta Jenkins combined to score 35 points as the Impact held off a late Currahee surge. The Defenders scored 18 points in the fourth quarter after scoring 17 total in the first three periods. Jenkins pumped in 20 points while Moore added 15 to balance the Georgia Impact offense. Kevin Harper rounded out the scoring with nine points.
9U Championship: Team Heat 29, Atlanta Celtics 23
Team Heat used speed and grit to take home the 9 and under championship of the Georgia Cup II on Sunday afternoon.The Americus-based team did a great job of getting to the rim and scoring in transition during the title game, getting 12 points from Amare Hubbard. Omar Woodard scored seven, Kearse scored six and Jestiny Scott scored 4 in the championship game. Jayden Scott led the Celtics with five points, Dawson Quarterman, Christian Campbell and D’Marley Elliott each scored four. Dream Rashad scored three and Thriston Excel-McDonald and Noah Cockrell each scored two points.
