Georgia Fall Preview: Team 8 Evals
Our annual Georgia Fall Preview camp was packed with talent across all 16 teams that competed. We roll out our player reports with help from our team coaches and staff of evaluators. We continue with Team 8.
Malik Crawford, PF, Monticello, 2019: Crawford is a bruiser is not afraid to get the dirty work done, but every team needs a guy like him. He has a junkyard dog mentality that he can use his physicality, strength, and athleticism to control the paint, and he did just that at The Fall Preview. He projects to be a high level rebounder on both ends, which should create a lot of attention for him. He also gets it done defensively, guarding small forwards and power forwards. He will be a south Georgia sleeper to watch for over the next few years. - Carter Wilson
Troy Cobb, III, SG, Archer, 2020: We liked the way Cobb was open to coaching and played within the structure of the team he was on.
Tarrence Evans, SG, Eagle’s Landing, 2018: A slasher supreme, Evans was on constant attack to the rim as a scorer.
Mitch Ganote, SG, Lambert, 2019: A high IQ player, Ganote was always in position to get a clean look as a shooter or in position to make the right pass on offense. He’s a good ball-handler and a good shooter.
Ryan Jenei, SG, Alpharetta, 2018: A really good shooter that knows how to score from the wing. He was very coachable and filled the role of leader on this team.
Shamarie McCleod, SF, Shiloh, 2018: A long and athletic guard, McLeod showed off his versatility on the wing and as a player that got to the rim. He shined in transition throughout the day. As he adds strength to his length, McLeod could tie all of his natural abilities together as a dangerous slasher.
Hunter Norman, PG, North Cobb Christian, 2018: A crafty lead guard, Norman showed his leadership qualities as a vocal communicator and leader. He played liked you’d expect a North Cobb Christian point guard to play - with intensity and purpose on every play.
TJ Stargell, PG, Shiloh, 2018: A heady lead guard with good defensive instincts, Stargell was the player who set the tone with toughness. We liked his effort level throughout the camp and was easy to see why Shiloh will expect productive minutes from him this season.
