Georgia Fall Preview: Team 6 Evals
Our annual Georgia Fall Preview camp was packed with talent across all 16 teams that competed. We roll out our player reports with help from our team coaches and staff of evaluators. We continue with Team 6.
Matt Chism, SG, Dawson Christian, 2017: The 6-foot-4 guard attacked the rim well with the dribble and played with a great motor. He has a reliable jumper to boot. - Justin Young
Jahorie Copeland, CG, 2017: We absolutely loved his motor. He’s a good three-point shooter and bouncey when he gets into the paint. Copeland is a good slasher and scores in bunches. He did a nice job of changing pace, too, with the dribble. Copeland was one of the best seniors in the camp and should be a guy to look at as we enter the HS season. - Justin Young
Clayvon Croom, F, Mays, 2017: Croom has the size and athleticism on the wing to be considered a decent college prospect. The lefty made his living slashing to the rim, where he can explode for some eye catching finishes. He also had the wherewithal to use his midrange pull up when help side defender stepped over, and he knocked down 12-16 footers consistently all day. Overall, I thought he was one of the better senior sleepers on the day. JuCo’s and D2’s should give him a look. - Carter Wilson
Kevin Hester, PF, North Cobb, 2019: Great on both sides of the ball as a rebounder. Few guys went as hard as he did as an offensive rebounder at the camp. The 6-foot-5 forward showed some promise. - Justin Young
Grant Howard, SG, Alexander, 2018: He’s played fantastic at our fall events this season. We asked players to separate themselves with their effort levels and Howard did just that. He played with a great motor. He’s a good finisher at the basket and dangerous in transition. We liked his pull-up jumper and his nose for scoring. Overall, a really good day of work at the Georgia Fall Preview. - Justin Young
Justice Hayes, SG, Woodland, 2019: A good defender who played his role well and ran the floor. The 6-foot-3 guard converted the easy transition buckets. - Justin Young
Orry Owens, PG, Hillgrove, 2019: A great three point shooter, Owens was a trusted option on the wing. Good ball-handling skills from the point guard position. - Justin Young
Messiah Thompson, PG, Pebblebrook, 2019 (pictured above): This little guard packs a ton of quickness and strength into his small frame, and is not afraid to mix things up despite being only a freshman. When he got the ball, he was in attack mode and there were not a lot of defenders capable of keeping him in front. He consistently got into the middle, where he can pick apart defenses and make good reads on secondary defenders. He is certainly a guard to keep an eye on over the next few years in Cobb County. - Justin Young
Michael Zabetakis, SG, West Forsyth, 2018: A good mid-range and three-point shooter, Zabetakis can get hot quickly from the wing. The 6-foot-3 guard has some point guard skill to boot. He’s been a nice sleeper to emerge onto our radar this fall. - Justin Young
