Alabama Fall Preview Profile: Diante Wood
Sacred Heart (AL) 2018 wing Diante Wood is no stranger to The Preview camps, having competed in the Elite Preview in Georgia in March. However, this time around Wood had a target on his back as one of the best and most well-known players in camp. And he responded well.
Wood was effective all day, showing a more well-rounded skill set, making him a guard with a more diverse game that continues to develop, which could be dangerous. Wood has become known as a physical guard who likes to use his size and strength to become a matchup problem for defenses, and he also continued to show that his physical tools can be a huge problem for oppositions, bullying opposing guards and taking forwards off the bounce.
Wood currently holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, UAB, New Mexico State, Wichita State, and Iowa State with a multitude of interest from high major schools in Power Five conferences. He has taken unofficial visits to both Alabama and Auburn this summer.
Wood is currently ranked number two in the HoopSeen Alabama 2018 rankings, and there will certainly be many more schools joining the chase in his recruitment over the next year.
