#BOTS: 14U Top Performers

14U #BOTS Top Performers

Keonte White, C, Team Carroll, 2020 (pictured): The 6-foot-5 post won MVP in the 14U Championship after an all-around productive game with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Keonte White was a big part of Team Carroll’s success this summer and helped change games with his skillset. White wasn’t just a load on the low block that could move defenders out of his way, he also displayed an unselfishness with his passing out of the post. White even showed off nice handles for a player of his size.

Cayden Baker, PF, High Hoops, 2020: Though High Hoops lost in the championship to Team Carroll, 6-foot-5 forward Cayden Baker was at times an unstoppable force offensively. He poured in 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to keep High Hoops in the game. Baker was able to bang inside for putbacks, face up from the mid-range and also attack the basket from the high post. Overall it was an impressive weekend from the big fella out of Florida.

Trey Bonham, PG, Team Carroll, 2020: Trey Bonham was the engine that made Team Carroll go at Best of the South. He facilitated, scored and defended at a high rate and constantly was involved in positive plays. He scored 11 points in the championship and collected two assists and two steals. Bonham is electric in the open court and gets the crowd going with his tight ball handling in traffic.

Willie Screws, F, Team Carroll, 2020: A true man amongst boys, 6-foot-4 Willie Screws’ energy on the floor was contagious for Team Carroll. The athletic forward is always a double-double threat with his nose for the ball coming off the rim. He posted a 10-point, 13-rebound game on Saturday and followed it up with nine points and eight rebounds in the championship game on Sunday. Most impressive was his ability to take over down the stretch once High Hoops had cut Team Carroll’s lead to two. He scored seven points in the final five minutes to hold off High Hoops.

Kyler Yarbrough, SG, Mississippi Express, 2020: Kyler Yarbrough was possibly the best shooter in the 14U Division this weekend. He banged home five threes, most of them from well beyond the arc against Team Carroll on Saturday en route to 17 points. Yarbrough not only torched the eventual Best of the South champions from deep, he also managed to snag seven rebounds against Team Carroll’s bigger lineup.
