HoopSeen Roundtable: Most entertaining moment from Nike EYBL session four

It doesn’t get much better than sitting down for several hours and getting a glimpse of the some of the very best prospects nationwide that the Nike EYBL presents. This past weekend in Suwanee, the entire HoopSeen team was on hand in taking all of the action in that the fourth session of the circuit showcased. We asked each member of our staff as to what was the most entertaining moment from the weekend that was the Nike EYBL Session 4.

The most entertaining moment of the weekend came in waves. There were a couple sequences in the CP3/Cal Supreme matchup for Wendell Carter that just made me shake my head in amazement. One of those sequences saw Carter block a shot, gather the rebound, push the ball up the floor, pass it off to a teammate, and get the ball back for a dunk. It's plays like these when you get so many different skills involved that showed he is the number one player and was loads of fun to watch. –Carter Wilson

Prior to the Mokan-Penny bout, the Las Vegas Prospects and New York Rens matched up in an intriguing matchup headlined by Charles O’Bannon Jr. and Jordan Tucker. The game in its entirety was a good one, but there was one sequence that stuck out in particular.

During the middle of the game, O’Bannon and Tucker, both wired shooters and scorers, went head-to-head and matched each other down the floor with 3 after 3. Both guys were in a zone were determined to win the game for their team. The Prospects prevailed, but the box score at the end of the game was no disappointment. O’Bannon finished with 37 points and Tucker had 29 points, both leading their respective teams. –Garrett Tucker

For the Georgia hoopheads, the pairing of the Georgia Stars and Southern Stampede was a match-up that was destined to be played in Atlanta. And boy did this game deliver. The Stars came out strong in the first half thanks to the play of guard Davion Mitchell. Foul trouble and injuries made for a short rotation for the Stars, and the team played with four players on the floor for the final two minutes of regulation and overtime. Jamie Lewis made some huge plays down the stretch but Collin Sexton seemed to always have a response. Sexton almost always seems to have a response. He drilled a buzzer beater with a great shot fake and drilled a three in the right corner. Buzzer and ballgame. It was a one-possession game throughout and both teams were, for the most part, equally paired on the hardwood. The Stampede shot 27-63 from the floor while Stars shot 25-63 from the floor. It was wild, fun and entertaining from start to finish. –Justin Young

Man, so many entertaining moments throughout the course of the weekend. After shuffling through the memory box and decompressing a bit from an amazing few days in the Peach State, I still cannot get over what Chaundee Brown did. Throwing up 37 points on the scoreboard off of at 16-for-23 shooting from the field, the Nike South Beach guard did it all. He went to the glass in securing 12 rebounds, missed just two of his 11 charity stripe attempts, and showed off a competitive spirit. He did all of this against in-state rival, the Each 1 Teach 1 17-under gang. It wasn’t exactly one specific moment but rather a slew of plays that Brown showcased in making shot after shot. Because of his breakout weekend that he added up unbelievable moment after unbelievable moment, the USA Basketball staff took note, dishing out an invitation to the U18 trials in a few weeks out in Colorado Springs.
