Gibbons Schedule Help Guide

This year is the largest Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions in the 23 year history of the tournament.   The best way for you to keep up with your team's schedule during the course of the tournament is to download the HoopSeen app and subscribe to receive updates for your team.  If you subscribe to your team from the app, you will automatically receive a text update at the conclusion of each game telling you when and where your next game will be.

If you want a little more information on exactly how the brackets will work this weekend, then continue reading below:

The 17U, 16U & 15U age divisions each consist of 64 teams with a main bracket per age division that everyone begins the tournament in, similar to the NCAA tournament.  As long as you win, your team will remain in the main bracket.  Here are links to the 17U, 16U and 15U main brackets.

What happens if you lose?  Well, everyone is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games in the tournament, so if you lose you will move to one of four secondary brackets depending on when you lose for the first time in the tournament.

  • If you lose your first game of the tournament, you will move to the copper bracket.
  • If you win your first game but lose your second game, you will move to the bronze bracket.
  • If you win your first two games but lose your third game, you will move to the silver bracket.
  • If you win your first three games but lose your fourth game, you will go to the gold bracket.

You can view all of the brackets on the HoopSeen app or from HoopSeen.com/schedules.  Just select your age division and scroll toward the bottom of the age division schedule.  You can filter to the different brackets as shown below.

Once you go to one of the four secondary brackets, the schedule that remains on the secondary bracket you move to is the schedule that remains for your team in the tournament.   In other words, once you move to the Copper, Bronze, Silver or Gold bracket, you will not move to another bracket or play any other games not scheduled in that bracket.

Teams in the middle school age division will participate in round-robin pool play.  The top 2 teams in each pool will advance to bracket play.  Once a team loses in bracket play, their tournament is over.

Good luck to all of the teams participating this weekend.
